Crouch admitted that his sneaky attempts to get a better look at the dancer were foiled. "During their performance, Onomatopoeia was next to me when they started their routine and I was trying to see through the costume, which you can’t," he said. "We’re trying to get clues all the time."
The Masked Dancer theories
Is Onomatopoeia Adam Garcia?
Some fans are convinced that it's Australian actor Adam Garcia behind the mask of Onomatopoeia after last weekend's show as the Kiss Me, Kate actor is a trained tap dancer.
With clues to Saturday Night Fever and Australia, Adam Garcia seems to be a good pick for Onomatopoeia.
Is Onomatopoeia David Tennant?
After last weekend's show, fans became convinced that it might be Doctor Who star David Tennant behind that Onomatopoeia mask – so much so that his wife, Georgia Tennant, even addressed the rumours on Instagram.
"When he's not in this house, he could be doing anything, couldn't he?" she said, before sharing a picture of the Onomatopoeia costume with the caption: "To be fair, this is how he does the school run."
Is Onomatopoeia Thierry Henry?
Could Peter Crouch have cracked the case when he suggested that Onomatopoeia is none other than Arsenal legend Thierry Henry?
We know that whoever is hiding inside that bold costume is “fired up by the sound of a stadium cheering”, which could be a nod to his football career (and did we spot a sneaky reference to Arsenal’s logo in the VT?).
Is Onomatopoeia Simon Bird?
While none of the judges have guessed him, some fans are convinced that The Inbetweeners actor Simon Bird could be the star behind Onomatopoeia - after spotting an ear-shaped accolade in the character's opening video clip.
Bird stars as Adam Goodman in the hit Channel 4 comedy series Friday Night Dinner. In one of the episodes, he wins the ear on legs trophy for music he wrote for a shaving foam commercial - and eagle-eyed viewers now think that this could point to Bird being the mystery celebrity.
Below is a list of all of contestants in season 2:
